Sharon was born in New York, but spent her childhood in both Selma and Grifton, N.C.
After graduating from Ayden-Grifton High School, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C.
Sharon began her career in broadcasting as an Associate Producer at WITN in Washington, N.C. and has also worked at WAAV Radio in Wilmington, N.C.
She enjoys all types of reporting, but considers hurricane coverage her favorite. She says "you get to wear a baseball cap on TV and you don't have to worry about wearing make-up!"
