Greenville County Deputies Find 50th Meth Lab This Year

GREENVILLE -- A tip from a neighbor led Greenville County deputies to their 50th methamphetamine lab this year.
Deputies were called to the Millford Church Road home Saturday night after a man said he could smell something strange coming from the home.Investigators didn't find anyone at home, but behind the home they found a large meth lab set up in a shed.
Warrants have been issued for the homeowner, David McCrary Jr., 31, on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.
A three-man crew from Columbia arrived Sunday morning and cleaned up the meth lab in about four hours.Greenville County sheriff's Sgt. Shea Smith said this was the 50th lab that deputies have investigated. Smith said that in 2003, 46 labs were found.Smith said people are encouraged to call authorities if they smell or see anything unusual in their neighborhood.
